Personal Injury Lawyer Michael Wright featured in New TV documentary on John Crawford

Ohio personal injury lawyer Michael Wright is featured in a new television documentary on the police officer-involved death of John Crawford III.

Beavercreek Police Officer Sean Williams shot Crawford, 22, twice in the left side on Aug. 5, 2014, at a Walmart.

Crawford died that night, as did shopper Angela Williams, who tried to flee the store and had a cardiac arrest after she heard the officer’s gunshots.

The documentary, “Two Sides,” aired Monday night on TVOne. It will re-air 1. a.m. Monday, Feb. 12.

The one-hour program is produced and narrated by Oscar winner Viola Davis. Dayton Daily News reporter Mark Gokavi was interviewed as part of the program.

The episode about Crawford, who lived in Fairfield, is one of four parts highlighting fatal police encounters between 2014 and 2015.

“Their tragic deaths sparked grassroots social justice movements such as Black Lives Matter, inspired protests by high-profile personalities, and immortalized their names as tragic figures in the polarizing debate on police brutality and race,” the program’s description reads online.
