A Second Negligence Lawsuit Has Been Filed In The Deadly Bus Crash That Killed 10 People, Including 5 Students.

A Deadly Bus Crash That Killed 5 Students And 5 Adults On April 10th 2014, Involving A Silverado Stages Tour Bus And A FedEx Truck Has Resulted In A Second Negligence Lawsuit Filed By One Of The Injured Students. The Tour Bus Was Carrying Students And Their Teachers On A Tour Of Humboldt State University As Part Of A School Trip. The Trip Was Cut Short When A FedEx Truck Ran Into The Bus Head On While The Bus Was Traveling On The Golden State Highway (5) In Orland, California.

According To The Associated Press (AP), The Negligence Lawsuit Was Been Filed By A Southern California Student Who Was Seriously Injured In The Horrific Bus Crash. The Lawsuit Names Silverado Stages (The Owner Of The Bus Company) And FedEx In The Suit. The AP Is Also Reported That Student Remembers Nothing Of The Crash Itself, Just Bracing For Impact. He Told The Media In A Press Conference That He Is Grateful To Be Aliv, And Also Stated During The Press Conference, “I Gotta Focus On Being Here. I Can’t Be Mad At Things That Happened. Yes, It Happened. But I’m Alive, So That’s More Important Than Anything.”

Hill Is An 18-Year-Old Student From The Renaissance Arts Academy In Eagle Rock. He Suffered From Burns, A Broken Collarbone, And Mental Pain From The Crash. 10 Other Passengers Died, While Many Others Were Injured In The Crash. He Is Only Able To Attend School For A Few Hours A Day, And Is Unable To Engage In Activities Like Playing The Violin. The Suit Was Filed With The Los Angeles Superior Court And States That FedEx And Silverado Stages Were Negligent Before During The Accident. Hill Claims There Were No Safety Instructions Posted In The Bus On How To Exit In Case Of Emergency Or Any Verbal Safety Instructions Given To The Passengers. Hill Is Seeking Unspecified Compensation For Medical Expenses And Compensatory. The Suit Alleges That The FedEx Driver, Killed In The Crash, Crossed In Front Of The Bus On The Freeway With Negligence And Without Care. The Suit Also Claims That The Silverado Tour Bus Was Not Properly Inspected For Safety And Had No Safe Method Of Escape. This Caused Hill And Other Passengers To Be Trapped In A Burning Bus For A Time Before A Means Of Escape Was Found.

The Associated Press Also Reported That This Is The Second Lawsuit Filed In Los Angeles In Connection With The Bus Crash On April 10th. FedEx Was Not Available For Comment, But FedEx Did Release A Statement After The First Lawsuit Was Filed On April 22nd By The Mother Of One Of The Students Killed In The Accident, Jennifer Bonilla. In The Statement, FedEx Spokeswoman Bonnie Kourvelas Said That FedEx Was, “Focused On Providing Support To Those Affected And Cooperating With The Authorities As They Conduct Their Investigation.” This Suit Is Requesting A Sum Of Seeks $100 Million In Damages Due To Negligence On The Part Of FedEx. According To The Suit, FedEx Trucks Have A History Of Catching Fire. The California Highway Patrol Has Not Identified The Cause Of The Crash, The Associated Press Reports.
