Another Fatal Police Shooting Has Claimed The Life Of Samuel DuBose After He Was Shot And Killed By A Member Of The University Of Cincinnati Police Department
Michael Wright of Wright & Schulte LLC has joined the legal team representing the family of Samuel DuBose, who was shot and killed by a police officer of the University of Cincinnati Police Department. Former campus police officer, Ray Tensing has been charged with Samuel DuBose’s purported murder. The death of Mr. DeBoe’s comes as Mr. Wright and the Crawford family prepare to memorialized the one year anniverssary of the shooting dealth of John Crawford III by Beavercreek police. Mr. Crawford was fatally shot by police as he was shopping at the Beavercreek Walmart and talking on his cell phone when he was shot and killed by a Beavercreek police officer on August 5, 2014.
Ray Tensing, a former University of Cincinnati Police Officer pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter in the fatal police shooting death of Samuel DuBose on July 19th.
At the arraignment, the judge set Tensing’s bond at $1 million.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters, who said he was shocked when he first saw the police video of the shooting, strongly noted that DuBose had not acted aggressively toward Tensing.
“People want to believe that Mr. DuBose had done something violent towards the officer — he did not. He did not at all. I feel so sorry for his family and what they lost, and I feel sorry for the community, too,” Deters said.
Attorney Michael Wright joins lead attorney Mark O’Mara of the O’Mara Law Group and Al Gerhardstein and Gerhardstein and Branch are seeking justice for the shooting death of Samuel DuBose as well as police reform.
