Undercooked Armour-Brand Bourbon BBQ Sausage Recalled from Walmart

Washington–According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announcement, Pinnacle Foods Group, LLC, located in Fort Madison Iowa is recalling it’s bourbon barbecue sausages. This recall follows the discovery that the meat product may not have been cooked thoroughly. Pinnacle Foods believes the problem occurred because of a miscalculation in processing time, causing the bourbon barbecue sausage to be undercooked during processing.

The product recall involves 90,975 pounds of “Armour Vienna Sausage Bourbon BBQ Flavored” sold in 5-ounce cans (24 per case). Each can has an establishment number of “P-4247″, which can be found inside the USDA mark of inspection. With a UPC Code of “54100 93824” and a use by date of Sept. 7, 2015.

The affected cans of Armour Vienna Sausage Bourbon BBQ Flavored were produced on Sept. 7, 2012. According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service retail list, The Bourbon BBQ Sausage in question are only known to be sold in Walmart stores nationwide.
