Press Conference Scheduled For Ohio Police Shooting Involving 4-Year Old Ava Ellis

A Press-Conference Will Be Held At The Law Offices Of Wright & Schulte LLC To Discuss The Police Shooting Of 4 Year Old Ava Ellis By A Columbus Police Officer.

Ava Ellis, the 4-year old girl who was the victim of a police shooting, is being represented by Michael Wright, a founding partner of Wright & Schulte LLC. Mr. Wright has planned a press-conference for tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the issues surrounding this case.

Michael Wright, a founding partner of Wright & Schulte LLC, has scheduled a press conference to discuss the case of Ava Ellis, the 4-year old girl who was the victim of a police shooting that involved a Columbus police officer, Jonathan Thomas on June 19th. This press conference is scheduled to discuss the events that occurred when Ava Ellis, the 4-year old Ohio girl, was shot by police officer Thomas, a 5 year veteran of the Columbus police department, when he was purportedly aiming at a charging dog. News reports from the Columbus Dispatch report that Officer Thomas was investigating a hit-and-run accident at a nearby residence when when a woman a few houses away had called to him and said her sister, Ava Ellis’ mother, had cut herself. It is reported that the police shooting occurred after officer Thomas entered the doorway of the Ellis home and a dog dog purportedly charged him. Officer Thomas fired his gun at the dog but missed the dog and hit 4-year old Ava Ellis in her right leg. Ava Ellis was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she as listed in stable condition.

Michael Wright is currently representing the family of John Crawford III in another police shooting. John Crawford III, was a 21-year-old Cincinnati man who was fatally shot by Beavercreek police on August 5th 2014 in the Beavercreek Walmart. Video shows Mr. Crawford was holding a Pellet air rifle and talking on his cellphone when he was shot and killed by Beavercreek police officers. The family has filed a lawsuit and has met with Attorney General, Loretta Lynch who has vowed to look into the legalities of the Walmart shooting.
