August 5th 2014 Will Live Forever In The Hearts And Minds Of The Family And Friends Of John Crawford III Who Was Fatally Shot And Killed By Police Officers At The Beavercreek Walmart.

ohn Crawford III would have celebrated his 23rd birthday last week, but instead his family is memorializing his life on the one year anniversary of the fatal beavercreek police shooting that took his life. The Crawford family says they will hold a vigil and community rally at the Courthouse Square at 7 p.m. to remember their son and to seek justice in this and other police shootings around Ohio and the country. Attorney Michael Wright of Wright & Schulte LLC has been representing the family in this tragedy and has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio. The lawsuit names as defendants members of the Beavercreek Police Department, including the officer who purportedly shot and killed Mr. Crawford, the Walmart store in Beavercreek, and the city of Beavercreek and the (3:14-cv-00454)

Fatal police shootings have continued with the deaths of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, 12-year-old Tamir Rice in Cleveland in November and most recently the shooting death of Samuel DuBose, during a traffic stop in southwest Ohio by, a now-fired, University of Cincinnati police officer who has plead not quilty to murder charges. Mr. Wright of Wright & Schulte LLC has recently joined the legal team representing the family of Mr. DuBose.

“It does not appear that anything has changed for the better in this past year – that we’re still having a lot of police-involved shootings of young black men,” said Michael Wright, an attorney for the Crawford family.
